Location: Rural areas in Southern Senegal

Project Description
The prompt was given to design a new nursery school that can adapt to any site condition in rural area, Southern Senegal. Materials must be selected locally and the construction should be as simple as possible.
The project does not only have to create a school for children to learn but has to hold a huge impact on their lives and their mental growth as well.
Thesis Statement
The Nursery School of Hope aims to create a new model for nursery school all around rural areas in Southern part of Senegal. The meaning behind the project is to create not only a school for Senegal children to acquire knowledge, but to also provide an inspiring space for them to grow both mentally and physically.
The main materials are gathered locally from the area which consist of rammed earth, bamboo, and straw. Besides, wasted materials such as old car tires and calabash plant shells are reused as shading device and playground elements for children to play with. A humble approach but filled with many beneficial outcomes.
